Last week, Barrett officially launched their newest rifle to the MRAD family, the MRADELR. The ELR stands for Extreme Long Range. The new rifle is a larger version of the successful MRAD rifle and is chambered in .416 Barrett. The new big-bore precision rifle will initially offered in .416 with a caliber conversion kit coming later from either existing Barrell Markers kit.
Yesterday, Australian Defence Contractor NIOA fully acquired Barrett Firearms. Barrett was founded back in 1982 by Ronnie Barrett, inventor of the Barrett .50 Cal anti-material rifle. Over the proceeding decades, the Barrett anti-material rifle and .50 BMG have become synonymous in the firearms industry. Barrett also created the highly adaptable and modular MRAD rifle. Barrett has continued to innovate and be a leader in the precision rifle market. Barrett rifles are trusted and used by militaries, law enforcement, and civilians around the globe.
Over the years in the firearms market the move hasn’t been towards innovation in certain aspects but, refinement of the AR-15 platform and its cartridges. Seeking to optimize the platform. Last week, Barrett announced the newest version of the REC10 rifle. The new REC10 will come in tungsten grey and be chambered in .308 Win.
