Barrett recently started selling the REC10 rifle to civilians last spring. This announcement comes after the U.S. military selecting the REC10 as a medium caliber long range rifle.
Barrett President Chris Barrett spoke of the hardwork put into the REC10 rifles saying, “We’ve been working on the REC10 behind-the-scenes for more than two years. Before we bring a rifle to market, we have to know it meets the standards of the most demanding users in the world – the armed forces. Winning this contract further confirms, we’ve done our job.” In a December press release about being awarded the government contract.
The REC10 family of rifles comes from years of extensive testing and engineering from Barrett. The company states it has spent, “countless hours perfecting the semi-automatic 308 rifle, guaranteeing the reliability, durability, and accuracy customers expect form the Barrett name; no corners cut, no detail overlooked. The Barrett REC10 is reliable, a pleasure to shoot and operate, and it’s accurate. From the barrel to the safety, the attention to quality craftsmanship is unmatched.”
The REC10 is running a direct impingement system. Features a 16-inch button rifled chrome line bore barrel, with an intermediate gas system, ambidextrous bolt release and magazine catch, with a TB-41 DLC treated bolt carrier group.
The REC10 is also rocking BRS M-Lok handguard, a ALG Defense QMS trigger group, Barrett flash hider, Magpul buttstock, and two 20-round Magpul mags. All, this in addition to a billeted upper and lower receiver and a soft carry bag.

The current price tag for a REC10 in black and FDE is $2,995. I don’t know if that will be the official price of the tungsten grey version but, I imagine it will be in the same ballpark.
