Scalarworks Introduces the Fuse Bolt-On Scope Mount System

Scalarworks has announced the Fuse bolt-on scope mount lineup, expanding its optics mounting options beyond the company’s well-known Leap quick-detach series. While the Leap mounts have built a reputation for lightweight construction and reliable return-to-zero performance, the new Fuse line is positioned as a fixed, bolt-on alternative for shooters who prioritize rigidity, simplicity, and long-term durability.

Material Choice and Structural Design

The Fuse mounts are designed to support a wide range of optics, including red dots, LPVOs, and high-magnification scopes. Each mount is CNC-machined from 7075-T6 aluminum billet, a material chosen for its superior strength and stiffness compared to 6061-T6 aluminum. Scalarworks’ use of 7075-T6 reflects a design philosophy that favors structural performance and durability over cost reduction, particularly for rifles expected to endure sustained recoil and demanding use.

Ring Geometry and Clamping Mechanics

A defining feature of the Fuse system is its asymmetrical ring design, which simplifies installation while improving clamping uniformity around the optic tube. The rings are also 22 percent wider than standard designs, creating a broader and more mechanically stable interface especially beneficial for configurations that include secondary or piggyback optics. Additional design elements, such as increased screw counts per ring and machined inner ring grooves, are intended to distribute clamping force evenly while increasing traction without requiring excessive torque.

Configurations and Optic Compatibility

Scalarworks offers the Fuse lineup in five configurations. The FUSE/01 optic riser raises lower-third co-witness red dots to a 2.26-inch height. The FUSE/02 and FUSE/03 mounts accommodate 30mm and 34mm LPVOs respectively, while the FUSE/04 and FUSE/05 are designed for 35mm and 36mm high-magnification optics. Most models are available in both 1.57-inch and 1.70-inch heights, with additional options planned.

Secondary Optic Support and KICK Integration

The Fuse system also supports Scalarworks’ KICK extension mounts, allowing compatible models to accept piggyback red dots at the 12 o’clock position, further expanding the capability of LPVO setups.

Availability and Pricing

According to Scalarworks, the Fuse is designed to be the lightest, stiffest, and easiest-to-use bolt-on scope mount currently available. The mounts are offered in black and FDE, with pricing starting at $139 for the FUSE/01 riser and $319 for scope mount variants, depending on configuration. With the Fuse lineup, Scalarworks provides a bolt-on mounting solution that complements its QD offerings while addressing users who favor fixed mounts for precision and duty-oriented rifle builds.
