IWI US Launches ARAD 5: A Modern Piston Driven AR-15

At the heart of the ARAD 5 features a mil-spec upper that is paired  with a 15”M-LOK handguard to create a is a semi-monolithic upper receiver. This design increases overall rigidity, allowing end users to mount optics and laser aiming devices (LAMs) while maintaining consistent zero under demanding conditions.

One of the standout features of the ARAD 5 is IWI’s patented QD CamLok barrel system. This system enables fast, tool-less barrel changes while maintaining a secure lock-up with the upper receiver. The goal is simple: preserve accuracy and reliability without sacrificing adaptability. Working in tandem with this system is the rifle’s two-position short-stroke gas piston system, optimized for both suppressed and unsuppressed shooting.

Together, the semi-monolithic upper and CamLok system are engineered to function as a cohesive unit, delivering:

• Rapid Change: Quickly swap barrel lengths to meet mission requirements

• Secure Lock-Up: Ensures a rigid connection between barrel and receiver for improved accuracy

• Free-Float Design: Enhances precision through reduced external interference

• Piston Integration: Seamlessly pairs with the short-stroke gas system for consistent performance

The ARAD 5 utilizes a mil-spec lower receiver, maintaining a familiar manual of arms for users. It features a standard buffer system, mil-spec controls, and a mil-spec trigger. The rifle is outfitted with a B5 Systems Bravo stock and P-23 grip, offering a solid ergonomic foundation right out of the box.
