Last summer, Sig Sauer introduced the P211-GTO, the company’s entry into the double-stack 1911/2011 market. The P211-GTO generated immediate interest thanks to its build quality, compatibility with P320 magazines, and reasonable price point.
Following its release, users identified two primary changes they wanted to see addressed: a slimmer grip module and a non-compensated version suitable for duty applications. Sig Sauer has now answered those requests with the P211 Full Size.

- The P211 features front and rear slide serrations, a 5-inch bull barrel, and an optics-ready slide utilizing SIG-LOC Pro (DPP footprint).
- Sig Sauer has removed the aluminum grip module from the P211 and replaced it with a slimmer polymer grip attached to the pistol’s alloy frame.
- The frame features a skeletonized flat-face trigger, ambidextrous controls, and a removable low-profile magwell.
- Unlike the P211-GTO, the P211 Full Size uses a non-compensated designed around a traditional 5-inch bull barrel.

Sig Sauer entered the increasingly crowded 1911/2011 market with the P211-GTO and found success by engineering and manufacturing a well-built pistol that delivers the features consumers expect from the platform while maintaining compatibility with P320 magazines.
The P211-GTO initially received criticism for its weight, girthy grip module, and lack of a non-compensated configuration for law enforcement and self defense. Sig Sauer went back to the engineering table with the P211 Full Size, addressing those concerns with a slimmer polymer grip and the inclusion of a 5” bull barrel configuration.
The result is a P211 designed to be lighter, slimmer, and ready to be put to work. The remaining question is whether Sig Sauer can maintain the P211’s value proposition while making the changes consumers have been asking for.
