Sig Sauer Introduces the P211 Carry With Polymer Grip Module
Last summer, SIG Sauer introduced the P211-GTO, the company’s first entry into the double-stack 1911/2011 market. The P211-GTO quickly drew attention for its build quality, compatibility with P320 magazines, and competitive price point.
After looking into the P211 Full Size last week, we’re turning our attention to the newest addition to the lineup: the P211 Carry. While the both models addressed requests for a slimmer grip module and a non-compensated configuration, the Carry takes the platform in a different direction, offering a more concealable package for those looking for a more compact P211 for conceal carry.
What We Need To Know
- SIG’s P211 Carry slide features front and rear slide serrations, a 4.2 bull barrel, and comes optics ready featuring SIG-LOC Pro (DDP footprint).
- The aluminum grip module is removed from the P211 and replaced with a slimmer polymer grip attached to pistol’s alloy frame.
- The frame also features a skeletonized flat face trigger, ambidextrous controls, SIG XRAY Day/Night sights, and a removable low-profile magwell.

The Bottom Line
Sig Sauer’s initial venture into the saturated 1911/2011 market with success by engineering and manufacturing a well built gun that runs. With its success came some criticism such as girthy grip module and not having a non-compensated model for concealed carry, personal defense, and LE. Sig went back to the engineering table and built P211 Carry giving consumers what they asked for a concealable well built and lightweight firearm meant to be run hard.
