Recently, Smith and Wesson announced that they have provided over 600 new pistols to their hometown police department, the Springfield PD. The police department will be replacing S&W M&P 40 with the S&W M&P 2.0 as their new duty pistol. It’s is unclear weather the department will be switching to 9mm or staying with .40 cal.
Remington Arms is a firearms company whose heritage spans over two centuries. The company was founded by Eliphalet Remington in 1816, in IIion, NY. As, any company Remington has experience epic heights and devastating lows as a company. Realizing and producing an iconic Remington 870 shotgun and Model 700 bolt-action rifle. Remington has also face the terrible lows of bankruptcies. The latest Chapter 11 filing and company restructuring occurred back in 2018.
This year has been a crazy and very eventual year so far in 2020. From the global pandemic to protest and riots, 2020 has rocked America and the world. All the uncertainty and chaos of the times people have turned to their Second Amendment rights to keep and bear arms.
When I spent time with the XD-M Elite at Springfield’s booth the pistol changed my perception of the XD-M platform somewhat. Did it change my mind to invest in one? Maybe not. But, I do believe Springfield Armory is on the right track.

Early this week Nighthawk released their Custom Colt Series 70 1911 pistol which is currently available for purchase. The new Series 70 features several upgrades to the classic Colt. Upgrades in include trigger system, sights, and a match grade 5-inch barrel.

Recently, Sig Sauer completed its delivery of its 100,000th Sig Sauer M17/M18 service pistols. This is a major milestone for Sig Sauer since winning the contract to produce U.S. military new service pistol back in 2017.
