Activision Unveils Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Campaign Trailer at Gamescom 2024
During the Opening Night Live show at Gamescom 2024, Activision showcased the highly anticipated campaign trailer for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6. Developed by Raven Software and Treyarch, this installment comes after the intense criticism and backlash that Modern Warfare 3 received for its underdeveloped story campaign. The two studios are determined to address those issues with the release of Black Ops 6.
Black Ops 6 serves as a direct follow-up to Cold War and is set in the early 1990s, a time marked by a critical and potentially explosive international environment. With the collapse of the Soviet Union and the United States solidifying its position as the sole superpower, the game promises a gripping narrative steeped in geopolitical tension.
As the first mainline Call of Duty title to launch after Microsoft’s $69 billion acquisition of Activision Blizzard, Black Ops 6 is set to make a significant impact. The game will be available on October 25, 2024, and will be offered both as a day-one release on the Game Pass subscription service and in the traditional premium format.
