As the nation pauses to observe Veteran’s Day, it is with deep gratitude and reverence that we extend our heartfelt thanks to the men and women who have selflessly served in the armed forces. On this hallowed day, we reflect on the profound sacrifices of time, blood, sweat, and tears made by our veterans—a sacrifice that forms the bedrock of the freedoms we cherish as a nation.
In the realm of shooting, there are few events as memorable as Ohio Range Day (ORD) 2022, hosted by Achilles Heel Tactical. With ORD 2023 only a month away, I want to take a moment to reminisce on last year’s event. Reflecting on my participation in the event, I am reminded of the invaluable lessons I learned, the camaraderie I forged, and the access I gained to the world of cutting-edge firearms and equipment.
Time is enduring. It is lasting. Time has the ability to soften and lose the luster and veracity of our memories. Time has the ability to jade us from the horrors of the past by our disconnection from the moment. Time is enduring and will continue well after humanity is gone.
This year for the firearm industry and community has seen tremendous growth. While having to deal with struggle as well. In 2020, we experienced record sales and growth of companies. We faced the challenges of canceled trade shows. All the while dealing with the tyranny of government and it’s agencies. (Talking to you ATF) Throughout, all those obstacles due to Covid-19 lockdowns, mass civil unrest, and tyranny from the government the industry continued to flourish. As, Americans have sought firearms for self defense in these chaotic times we reside in. The value of gun ownership has been made very clear during the unprecedented times we live in.
Today, the Marine Corps turns two hundred and forty four today. The Marine Corps has been one of the greatest accomplishments and moments in my personal history.
