Yesterday, I read an article from USA Today which states, San Francisco, declares NRA a ‘domestic terrorist organization’ in resolution. When I read this headline. I honestly couldn’t believe it. I honestly thought it was fake news.

In my mind I said, “Did this really roll out of California?”

So, I did my due diligence and sure enough it was a true headline. From there I went back and read the USA Today article and I couldn’t believe what I was reading. That this board of supervisors in San Francisco has the damn audacity to say that the NRA was a domestic terrorist organization. Then the resolution was passed unanimously by the board. What the fuck type of bizarro world am I living in right now? Are you serious California? I know you are serious but this is blatant attack on 2nd Amendment rights under the guise of gun safety.

Below is a key part of the resolution that sticks out to me.

The resolution states, “The National Rifle Association spreads propaganda that misinforms and aims to deceive the public about the dangers of gun violence.”

Are you serious San Francisco? Really? C’mon on man miss me with this noise.

This type of rhetoric is dangerous, divisive, and blatantly encroaches on freedoms promised to us by the Bill of Rights within the U.S. Constitution. California is a habitual line stepper when it comes to the freedoms of their citizens. Other heavily restricted firearms states like New York will use this as a litmus test on what they can push in their fight to ban firearms.

There is a lot to unpack on this matter so lets get started.

First off, I am not a big fan of the NRA. They have a tendency to bend the knee under political pressure. I personally believe they don’t do enough to address the matters of these mass shootings after they happen. They should be out there getting the message out about the statistics regarding gun violence. Explain that laws and processes are in place to legally own firearms. Not, just anyone can go and buy a firearm. Fight the misconception for the need of universal background checks. We already have federal background checks. It’s called NICS. We already have in place what the far left screams we don’t have. NRA should be fighting tooth and fucking nail to defend our rights but, they don’t. They go radio silent during the tragedy of a mass shooting and allow misinformation about firearms and laws regarding them to proliferate. Which is weak by the NRA.

The NRA needs to nut up a lot about defending our right to bear arms. They are in no way a terrorist organization. They are a lobbying organization who law-abiding citizens pay an annual membership fee to defend their rights. It is in no way a terrorist organization. When did defending Americans constitutional rights make them an terrorist organization? They are not a terrorist organization. Using that type of language that this board of supervisors used was damn dangerous and only seeks to divide this country even more. San Francisco board of supervisors your statements were unjust, ignorant, and straight-up authoritarian. Plain and simple.

Second, we are battling a constant erosion of 1st amendment and 2nd amendment rights in this country. At every turn I feel we have to defend our rights to free speech, press, and religion. They attack the second by strategically dismantling our rights one law at a time.

When it comes to censorship supporters on the left try to censor people, ideas, or images they deem unacceptable. They do this by using the guise of political correctness. The only thing they  want is their philosophy to prevail because they believe they are right. If anyone disagrees with them they are a racist, bigot, homophobic, or any other term they deem to classify you as. They use these political explosive words to silence those who dissent against their narrative of inclusion. This wokeness and politically correct culture is an natural erosion of first amendment rights.

Are we trying to become like China?  Who censors content that can be seen to damage the  harmony of the nation. The Chinese government is controlling the narrative to control its citizen and stop the spread of dissenting thought. We are essentially doing this through some people’s obsessive need for politically/social correctness. That is cut and dry authoritarian concept. Silence the ones who disagree with you by any means necessary.

We should be able to create a discourse among the American people to address the political, racial, and socioeconomic divides in this country. We have to talk face to face with each other and bring our humanity into the forefront. Instead of being keyboard crusaders for social justice and political correctness. Our freedom of speech should never be stepped on. No matter how vial, racist, homophobic, or sexists a thought might be. Everyone has a right to their voice and we who my disagree with them have a right to voice our disagreement.

So, all this social/political correctness does nothing to help that discourse. So, you can miss me with that non-sense again. We need to start a conversation with each other instead of reverting to basic bitch political tribalism. We are better than that. So we must do better than that lowest denominator.

Next, our right to bear arms is a constitutional right. You have no right or business trying to strip me of my right to bear arms because we disagree. Many people like to blame firearms for the ills of this world. The media and the left have turned them into this big bad boogey man for people to rally behind. Firearms is the low hanging fruit when it comes to acts of violence.

The reason for these acts of violence are complex, dynamic, and multilayered. People want to focus on the tool instead of the person. If a person wants to level a certain amount of destruction they will find a way. The UK has banned firearms and the are currently dealing with a knife epidemic. It’s to the point that you can’t even carry a small pocket knife on you in London or you will be locked up. Sweden is dealing with a grenade crisis. Yes, people I said a grenade crisis. Only thing that this tells me is that violence will find a way to prevail no matter what we do.

If you ban firearms it will just create a black market like prohibition caused in the 1920’s and 1930’s. Turning law abiding citizens into criminals for drinking or making alcoholic beverages. At the time alcohol was consider the scourge of society and the cause of all its ills. It was a scapegoat for the societal problems of that era. The era was dynamic and evolving. America’s identity was changing and our nation moving in a new direction.

A firearms ban would solve nothing. It will turn the millions of firearms owners into criminals. Under the guise of creating a safer America. That is the same claim they made during prohibition. Think about it people.

These acts of  violence are dyanmic and complex and must be viewed through that lens. We have to come together as a nation and talk about the issue of violence in this country on every level. We have to get average Americans, politicians, scholars, and doctors together and talk about this. We have to examine the dynamics to battle the epidemic of violence in this nation. We have to stop being lazy and ask some hard questions to get some real answers.

Attacking American’s freedom of speech and their right to bear arms is not the way. I am tried of this assault by ideologies from the left. These ideologies are authoritarian. They seek to silence our freedom of speech, press, and religion. Take away our rights to defend our lives or to defend ourselves against the tyranny of a government.

What I need the San Francisco board of supervisors to do is sit down and shut the fuck up. Stop pandering and virtue signaling to your base on the far left. Stop trying to use this resolution as a litmus test to take away and demonize firearms and firearms owners. Stop trying to make firearms owners a social pariah. Stop stating that the NRA is a terrorist organization. Stop stepping on honest Americans liberties. You have no right or place to erode Americans freedoms.

I need you to worry about fixing your damn state’s problems and stop virtue signaling to your base. Handle your homeless crisis. Handle your poop problem in San Francisco because of the homeless. How about you handle figuring out how not to tax Californians to the grave. Go handle that first. Then after you solve that go back and give Californians their state back and freedoms. That’s what I need Board of Supervisors and all the politicians in California to do. Other than that, “Please sit the fuck down and be quiet.”

What do you think of the new resolution by the San Francisco board? Do you think it’s just a virtue signal to their base? Let me know in the comments below.
