Over the last couple of weeks, Dead Air Silencers has been teasing a new entry into its highly successful product line. Giving us hints and glimpses at what was coming. At, the NRA Annual Meeting last weekend Dead Air officially unveiled the new Sierra-5 suppressor. The Sierra-5 is Dead Air Silencers first dedicated 5.56 silencer produced by the company.
The new Sierra-5 is built from the ground up to be a sturdy, rugged, and reliable silencer capable of handling anything a user can throw at it. The new silencer is made out of a monolithic stainless steel tube for a solid and robust foundation. Along with five stainless steel baffles within body of the tube. The new Sierra-5 is full auto rated as well. Dead Air’s new silencer is optimized to handle 5.56 NATO ammunition. Which leads me to believe it can handle M855 rounds with no problem. While also being able to shoot .224 Valkyrie if you have an AR chambered in that caliber.
The Sierra-5 was designed to offer optimal sound and flash suppression while maintaining a compact footprint. Silencers can easily jump over 8 inches long which can dramatically shift the overall length of your gun. Making a once maneuverable rifle into bit of a chore. The new Sierra-5 from Dead Air comes in under 6 inches which makes it a viable option for an rifle length in your AR selection. The Sierra-5 utilizes HUB compatible (1.375×24) mounting adapters, which allows the end user to use Dead Air’s Keymo or Xeno mounting systems.
Below, is the specs for the Sierra-5 silencer
