Recently, Leupold has released a blacked out version of their popular Freedom Red Dot Sight. The Freedom red dot was released in 2019, and became a go-to red dot for many shooters within the community. The company didn’t rest on the success of the Freedom red dot. Recently, Leupold has released a blacked out version of their popular Freedom Red Dot Sight. The Freedom red dot was released in 2019, and became a go-to red dot for many shooters within the community. The company didn’t rest on the success of the Freedom red dot. Leupold instead went back to the drawing board to improve the Freedom red dot even more. After listening to from dedicated users, Leupold re-engineered Freedom red dot and gave it a all new black ring instead of Leupold’s traditional gold ring. The Freedom Red Dot Sight-Black was born.
The Freedom RDS comes in two model variants. The first features capped precision turrets for windage and elevation with 1/4 MOA adjustments. Most red dots on the market come with a 1/2 MOA adjustments. The second features a precision BDC elevation turret. This allows users to adjust out to 500 yards for standard 55-grain .223. Removing the need to adjust for holdover. Aim center and shoot. (I hope this catches on in the industry. I think this is a phenomenal idea).
The Freedom RDS features a 1-MOA red dot and Motion Sensor Technology (MST). The motion sensor allows you to save juice by turning off the optic after five minutes of no use. When it detects motion again the red dot turns on immediately. The new RDS also features eight illumination settings and provides up to 1,000 hours of battery life.
The two Freedom RDS models retail at different prices. The Freedom RDS retails at $389.99 with mount. The Freedom RDS BDC with mount retails at $519.99.
