Beretta Unveils the 94X Performance Built for IPSC and USPSA Competition
Beretta is proud to announce the launch of the new 94X Performance pistol. Drawing from decades of competition experience, Beretta has developed a purpose-built platform engineered to deliver the precision, speed, and control demanded by today’s IPSC and USPSA shooters.
Built around the new Vertec Pro frame, the 94X Performance focuses heavily on ergonomics and recoil management. The frame features an upswept beavertail and raised trigger undercut, allowing shooters to establish a higher grip on the pistol for improved control during rapid-fire strings and faster follow-up shots.
The pistol also incorporates an updated slide and barrel system. While retaining the iconic styling of Beretta’s 90 Series pistols, the 94X Performance features aggressive front and rear slide serrations and an optics-ready slide with a mounting cut positioned 3mm lower than previous designs. This deeper optic cut lowers the center of mass, improves optic-to-barrel alignment, and enhances recoil control.
At the heart of the pistol is Beretta’s new Xtreme-S Trigger System. Designed specifically for competition use, the trigger offers an extremely short take-up, a clearly defined wall, a crisp break, and a short, responsive reset to maximize speed and consistency.
The 94X Performance remains a traditional double-action/single-action (DA/SA) pistol, combining Beretta’s proven operating system with modern competition-focused enhancements.
Below is the product description and key features from Beretta.
Product Description
Built around the new Vertec® Pro frame with extended geometry, the 94X Performance is engineered to deliver a higher, more natural grip and a 20-shots capacity with flush magazine. An upswept beavertail and raised trigger undercut enhance comfort, control, and stability during rapid fire. The RDO slide cut, positioned 3 mm lower than previous designs, further reduces the center of mass for improved recoil management, while enhancing optic-to-barrel alignment and minimizing the risk of optic interference.
The 94X Performance cold-hammer forged barrel features an advanced steel formulation designed to extend barrel life even under extreme round counts. Paired with a redesigned firing pin and extractor, now incorporating a new integrated elastomer buffer, the pistol delivers exceptional consistency and unwavering long-term reliability.
Reshaped grip panels with a palm swell, combined with aggressive frame checkering and newly contoured serrations, ensure unmatched control at speed.
Refined, low-profile safety levers integrate seamlessly with the frame, allowing for an uninterrupted grip and more precise, confident handling under recoil.
At the core of the pistol, the state-of-the-art Xtreme-S® trigger system delivers an extremely short, fast, and intuitive reset—translating every input into crisp, immediate action, while fully preserving Beretta’s uncompromising safety standards.
