In late December GSM outdoors announced the acquisition of Studies and Observation Group better known as SOG Knives. SOG is a maker of high-quality tactical knives and multitools for military, Law Enforcement, and the tactical inclined. SOG will be joining GSM Outdoors extensive lineup of companies who make outdoor and hunting related products. GSM Outdoors has such names as Cold Steel, TruGlo Sights, Stealth Cam, and Birchwood Casey under its umbrella.

The first product from SOG Knives reproduced the famous MACV-SOG Bowie knife used in the Vietnam War. Since then, their line has expanded to products ranging from folding knives to tomahawks and everything in between. Additionally, civilians, first responders, and military members world wide carry SOG gear. The SOG Poweraccess multi-tool is particularly popular with military members. They also produce a covert backpack perfect for blending in when working in an urban environment. Perhaps their ultimate covert tool is a cell phone PopGrip multitool. This PopSockets collaboration gives the end user a pry bar, bottle opener, and small screwdriver all on the back of their phone.

Now, a little bit about me. I served six years in the Marines Corps as an 0311. I was in 2nd BN 4th Marines, 5th Marine Reg, 1st Mar Div. I was in Golf Company while in 2/4. I was deployed twice during my time in. I did one deployment to Afghanistan and my second was on apart of 31st MEU. I departed the military in September of 2015. I currently work as an RSO at a local range in Vegas.
