VKTR Industries Releases the VKP Pro, Its First Entry into the Double-Stack 1911 Market

VKTR Industries has officially stepped into the competitive double-stack 1911 space with the release of the VKP Pro, the first model in the company’s new Vanguard Series. Designed, engineered, and assembled in House Springs, Missouri, the VKP Pro represents a deliberate approach to modern DS 1911 pistol design that is centered on manufacturing precision, durability, and adaptability as its foundation.

Built entirely with U.S.-sourced materials, the VKP Pro reflects VKTR’s emphasis on tight tolerances and controlled manufacturing processes. The result is a pistol where the interaction between slide, barrel, and frame is intentionally refined, promoting consistency, reliability, and a smoother overall shooting experience.

Built for Duty, Competition, and Self Defense

Rather than designing the VKP Pro around a single role, VKTR engineered the platform to support a wide range of use cases. The pistol is intended to function equally well in duty-oriented environments, competition settings, or for self defense for shooters who prioritize structured training and equipment reliability.

This adaptability is central to the Vanguard Series philosophy. Instead of over-specialization, VKTR focused on creating a balanced platform that allows the end user to configure the pistol to their specific needs without compromising core performance.

Ergonomics Without Compromise

Ergonomic design played a significant role in the VKP Pro’s development. VKTR’s engineering team focused on grip geometry and grip texture to aid in recoil management, while maintaining long-term comfort during extended shooting sessions.

The reinforced polymer grip features VKTR’s proprietary grip texture, paired with a 416 stainless steel frame designed for durability across high round counts. Fully machined steel controls, free of MIM components, which contribute to tactile consistency and long-term wear resistance.

Trigger, Controls, and Optics Integration

At the center of the shooting experience is VKTR’s Combat Match Trigger, a single-piece design with an approximately 3.5-pound pull, clean break, and pronounced reset. The trigger is tuned to support both precision shooting and rapid follow-up shots without feeling overly light or competition-specific.

The VKP Pro ships optics-ready out of the box, including three adapter plates compatible with Aimpoint Acro, Trijicon RMR, and Leupold DPP footprints. Integrated backup iron sights are built into the optic plates, ensuring a functional sighting system regardless of optic choice.

Materials, Finish, and Longevity

Material selection and surface treatment were approached with longevity in mind. The VKP Pro is finished in Armorlube, VKTR’s proprietary coating designed to provide corrosion resistance and surface durability under hard use. Combined with the stainless steel frame and fully machined components, the pistol is engineered to maintain performance over thousands of rounds.
