EOTECH Introduces Its First Fully Enclosed Pistol Optic: The EFLX CE

Fully enclosed pistol optics have quickly shifted from niche to near-standard in professional and defensive roles, and manufacturers that once focused elsewhere are now moving to establish a foothold. The EFLX CE represents EOTECH’s first entry into the closed-emitter pistol optic market, as well as the company’s second pistol red dot overall, signaling a broader commitment to the category.

Rather than arriving early, EOTECH is entering a mature space shaped by hard use and evolving expectations. The EFLX CE reflects that reality, aiming to compete for market share by offering durability, environmental protection, and feature parity with optics already proven in duty environments.

Built for Every Environment, Designed for Hard Use

At its core, the EFLX CE is about protection. The fully enclosed design shields the emitter from debris, moisture, and environmental abuse that open-emitter pistol optics still struggle with in hard-use case roles. The housing itself is machined from 7075 aluminum, striking a balance between strength and weight.

The optic uses a square viewing window, offering a clean sight picture without feeling cramped, and EOTECH smartly integrates a rear backup iron sight directly into the housing. That detail alone signals the intended audience: professionals who value redundancy and continuity when things go sideways.

Controls That Make Sense Under Stress

EOTECH placed large, recessed, rubberized buttons on the top of the optic, making brightness adjustments easy with either hand even with gloves or under pressure. There are eight brightness settings, ranging from ultra-bright daylight levels down to night-vision-compatible output. It’s straightforward, tactile, and built to be adjusted on the move.

Multi-Reticle Capability Done Right

Inside the EFLX CE are upgraded electronics supporting a selectable reticle system:

• 3 MOA dot

• 42 MOA circle

• Dot + circle combination

Whether you prefer a precision dot, a fast acquisition ring, or both, the optic lets you tailor the reticle to your shooting style or mission profile with ease.

Shake-Awake and Serious Battery Life

Shake-Awake activation is standard and is paired with a programmable sleep timer settable to 10 minutes, 1 hour, 12 hours, or completely disabled. Power comes from a side-load CR2032 battery, meaning no re-zero is required during battery changes.

EOTECH estimates approximately 25,000 hours of runtime on a single battery, which puts the EFLX CE firmly in modern duty-optic territory.

Footprint Compatibility and Mounting

The EFLX CE is compatible with DeltaPoint Pro and RMSc footprints, making it adaptable to a wide range of slides and mounting solutions without forcing users into proprietary systems.

Availability and Pricing

The EFLX CE is expected to be available Q2 of this year, with an MSRP of $479. That places it squarely in the competitive duty-grade enclosed optic segment and is priced to compete, but clearly positioned as a professional tool rather than an entry-level option.

Final Thoughts

The EFLX CE feels less like EOTECH “catching up” and more like them entering the pistol optic space on their own terms. Fully enclosed, multi-reticle capable, shake-awake equipped, and reinforced with an integrated rear iron sight, this optic checks the boxes that matter for real-world carry and duty use.
