Springfield Armory Releases New Heatseeker .308 Pistol

In May 2025, Springfield Armory introduced its Model 2020 Heatseeker bolt-action rifle series which paired precision performance with a modern, tactical-focused chassis system. Built around the Sharps Bros. Heatseeker chassis, the platform featured AR-style furniture compatibility, a 16-inch carbon-wrapped barrel, and chamberings in .308 Win. and 6.5 Creedmoor.

Now, Springfield is expanding that lineup with a more compact and unconventional addition: the Model 2020 Heatseeker .308 pistol.

Compact Precision, Modular Design

The Heatseeker pistol is built on the Sharps Bros. chassis, featuring an M-LOK handguard and an integral recoil lug for added rigidity. The M-Lok allows users the flexibility to mount lights and lasers. A full-length Picatinny rail spans the top of the receiver.

At the heart of the platform is an adjustable TriggerTech trigger, offering a pull weight range between 2.5–5 lbs., allowing shooters to fine-tune the break to their preference.

Springfield pairs the system with a 12-inch barrel featuring a 1:10 right-hand twist rate, topped with an SA Radial Brake to help mitigate recoil. The pistol ships with AICS-pattern magazines, reinforcing its precision-focused design while maintaining compatibility with widely used magazine systems.

GENESEO, ILL. (04/17/26) – Springfield Armory® is proud to announce the launch of the Model 2020® Heatseeker .308 Pistol, blending bolt-action precision with AR-style modularity — all in an extremely compact and portable package.

Featuring an overall length of 22.5” with a compact 12” barrel, the Springfield Armory® Model 2020 Heatseeker Pistol chambered in .308 Win. features an attractive Graphite Black Cerakote® finish. The pistol’s foundation is the proven custom-grade Model 2020 action, which employs dual locking lugs and EDM raceways for smooth and reliable functioning.

This Model 2020 action is housed in the Sharps Bros 1913 Heatseeker Chassis, machined from a single block of aircraft-grade aluminum and featuring extensive M-Lok coverage as well as an integral recoil lug. A compact handguard, rear-mount strip of Picatinny rail and an AR-pattern B5 Systems P5 grip deliver a compact and maneuverable profile.

The pistol’s 12″ barrel is manufactured from stainless steel and features a 1:10” rate of twist. The muzzle features 5/8×24 threading and is topped off with a highly effective SA Radial Brake. In addition, the pistol is fed from a detachable five-round AICS-pattern magazine. Weighing in at 6 lbs., the pistol comes with a Picatinny rail scope mount and features an adjustable TriggerTech trigger that can be adjusted to pull weights from 2.5–5 lbs.
