First off, I understand no one is clamoring for a 5.7 pistol to be made in a compact factor. Yet, I think it’s an interesting idea so hear me out. Now, imagine having a 5.7 pistol in a G19 size form factor. Are you telling me you wouldn’t potentially rock one? I would. That would be dope ass hell…a 5.7 pistol in a G19 form factor sign me up.
Recently, FN announced that NATO accepted and standardized FN’s 5.7x28mm cartridge for its standard small arms portfolio. This puts FN in rare company of having a cartridge standardized to be used by NATO forces and allies. The new 5.7x28mm cartridge joins 9x19mm, 5.56x45mm, 7.62x51mm, and .50 BMG as standardized ammunition used by NATO.

On Tuesday, FN unveiled the FN 503 pistol which was designed for the everyday carry pistol for the concealed carry users. The new FN 503 comes in at 5.9” overall length, chambered in 9mm, and weighs a total of 1.31 lbs. The FN 503 comes with a standard six round magazine and a eight round extended magazine. The new FN 503 retails at $549 MSRP.
On Monday, FN has announced the release of the SCAR 20S chambered in 6.5 Creedmoor. 6.5 Creedmoor continues to gain traction and popularity since being introduced over 13 years ago. FN is banking on SOCOM support and adoption of 6.5 creedmoor in the MK220 SSR, as the catalyst for SCAR 20S being chambered in 6.5.
FN Herstal announced two limited edition runs of its FN 509 pistol. The new variants come in two-tone goodness. The slide will be rocking the flat dark earth (FDE) paint job. While the frame will be sporting an olive drab green (ODG) paint job for the limited edition runs of these FN 509’s.
This morning FN Herstal released information on its new MK 48 Mod 2 machine gun. The prototype MK 48 Mod 2 will be chambered in 6.5 Creedmoor.
