On Sunday, a gunman opened fire at a Texas Church killing two churchgoers. The gunman was killed by churchgoers who returned fire at the gunman in the church.

The church shooting took place at West Freeway Church of Christ located in White Settlement, Texas. White Settlement is about 10-15 miles outside of Fort Worth metropolitan area. 

Local media outlets have reported that a livestream of the church service appeared online. That footage shows at least one churchgoer firing back at the shooter while others seek cover behind pews. 

The church Pastor Britt Framer confirmed the existence of the livestream and subsequent video and that it has been pulled down. 

In the livestream footage acquired by news outlets you can see the gunman enter the church in a dark color hoodie and sit in a back pew of the church. During the sermon the man in the hoodie stands up and pulls a short barrel shotgun from his person and fires, killing two. 

The quick response of the church security team to engage the gunman with their concealed weapons to eliminating the threat. At least  five other churchgoers pull their concealed weapons to flank the gunman to make sure the threat is ended. All this action happens quickly, within a six second time frame. 

Authorities working the shooting has not yet confirmed the identity of the shooter, who was killed by the churchgoers. Special Agent in charge of Dallas Matthew J. DeSarno said they’re working to identify the gunman’s motive, adding the he is “relatively transient” but had roots in the area. Special Agent DeSarno also states that the gunman had been arrested multiple times but, declined to give details on those arrests.
