Recently, Nighthawk Custom released its first double stacked 1911. Nighthawk designed the new double stack 1911 as an answer to the high demand for high capacity 1911 pistols on the market. Out of this demand Nighthawk developed the Tactical Ready Series or TRS for short. Perviously, Nighthawk only offered the double stack frame variant as an upgrade from a traditional single stack framed 1911.

The TRS comes in two different configurations: TRS Comp and the TRS commander designed for concealed carry.

The TRS Comp

The TRS Comp features a 5” match grade barrel on a government frame with a monolithic slide. The slide is also fitted with a integrated compensator made popular by the Fire Hawk 1911. The TRS Comp also features: a full length dust cover, black nitride finish, a 18k gold front sight bead with Heinie Ledge black rear sight, 17+1 magazine capacity, and a solid stainless steel trigger with a serrated flat face. The TRS Comp retails at $4,599.

The TRS Commander

The TRS Commander features a match grade 4.25” stainless steel barrel on a commander frame also with a monolithic slide. The TRS Commander also features: a full length dust cover, front and rear dimple serrations on the slide, a black nitride finish, tritium front sight post with a Heinie Ledge Black rear sight, 17+1 magazine capacity, and a solid stainless steel trigger with a serrated flat face. The TRS Commander retails at $3,999.

Below is the product description, features, and specs for the TRS Comp and Commander from Nighthawk Custom.

TRS Comp

Product Description

The TRS Comp is Nighthawk Custom’s first model designed around a double stack frame. The Tactical Ready Series was designed to answer the demand for high-capacity pistols. While the TRS Comp meets that demand with 17+1 capacity, it offers much more to the shooter.

This model features the same integrated compensator made popular by the Fire Hawk, but on a dedicated double stack frame. A precision designed port in the compensator reduces muzzle flip, allowing the shooter to stay on target for follow up shots.

The TRS Comp features a match grade 5” barrel on a government sized frame with a monolithic slide. A full-length dust cover gives the pistol added weight up front, aiding in reducing muzzle flip. The entire pistol has been finished in black nitride for a sleek, durable look. The solid stainless trigger possesses a serrated flat face, providing a non-slip surface when pulling the trigger.

An 18K gold bead front sight does an excellent job catching light, providing quick target acquisition for the shooter, with a Heinie Ledge Black rear sight. The TRS Comp utilizes unique dimples at the rear of the slide, matching the pattern of the grip. These dimples provide a non-abrasive surface that won’t snag clothing when holstering.

The Tactical Ready Series breaks new ground for Nighthawk Custom. Combining high-capacity and innovation, the TRS Comp was designed to be unrivaled at the range.
