Yesterday, on social media Nightforce Optics official released their latest offering to the brand. For the first time ever Nightforce is offering ATACR and NX8 riflescopes in a new Dark Earth color. Nightforce’s Ultra Mount system is also available in the new earthy tone. The company is advertising Dark Earth as the New Black of the optics game. The new Dark Earth color is anodized in-house by Nightforce. This anodizing allows for a durable and corrosive-resistance finish. This anodizing process is the same process used on Nightforce’s USSOCOM riflescopes counterparts.
Below, is the product announcement from Nightforce Optics on the new Dark Earth models.
Product Announcement
Nightforce is excited to announce that select ATACR and NX8 riflescopes are now available in Dark Earth color options. Also available is the Nightforce UltraMount in many commercial configurations: Dark Earth or Black anodizing, 1.54in or 1.93in height, and 0MOA or 20MOA bias options. For more information on all of our new Dark Earth riflescopes and Nightforce UltraMounts, please visit our website at the link below or contact your local Nightforce dealer.
The new Nightforce ATACR and NX8 will have the same quality and features as previous models just with a new coat of paint.
Below, is the Product Description for the ATACR 1-8x24mm FFP.
ATACR 1-8x24mm FFP
The ATACR™ 1-8×24 riflescope is designed and built to be the ultimate low-power variable riflescope. It includes pristine ED glass, bright daylight illumination, an intelligent reticle, very low-profile adjustments and bomb-proof reliability, with a field of view at 1x equivalent to open sights…but vastly more precise.
It measures just over 10 inches in length and weighs 21 ounces, with a streamlined profile. The daylight visible, center red dot allows for rapid engagements like a red-dot sight.
Unlike a red-dot, however, the 1-8x provides up to 8x zoom to help locate, identify and engage targets at the maximum effective range of most rifles. The intelligent FC-DMx first focal plane reticle provides precise hold and hold-off points. The low-profile turrets are capped to prevent accidental adjustment and offer true .1 Mil-Radian adjustment. To aid in fast magnification adjustments, an integrated Power Throw Lever (PTL) is included.
The new Dark Earth models of the ATACR, NX8, and Ultra Mount are available now on their website. Nightforce also advises consumers that their might be color variances in the Dark Earth due to anodizing process. With the variances of materials, machining methods, and surface preparation can affect the Dark Earth color.
