Noveske and WRMFZY have collaborated on a limited edition love letter to the CAR-15/XM177 short-barreled rifle (SBR) called the Swamp Rat. Over Halloween weekend Noveske and WRMFZY had a raffle to see who would get the opportunity to purchase their limited-edition Swamp Rat SBR. Fifty lucky winners will be chosen and have the opportunity to own this exclusive collaboration from Noveske and WRMFZY.
A Brief History Of The CAR-15
The CAR-15 was designed in response to the US military’s desire for a compact M16 variant to fix the inadequacies of an earlier version of a shortened M16 platform. The CAR-15 was a success and in military service for over 30 years after its introduction. The 10.5” SBR was used heavily by Special Forces units during their bloody jungle campaigns during the Vietnam War. The CAR-15 also see widespread adoption and use throughout the conventional military and remained in service until 1998. While also gaining fame and recognition in such movies as Michael Mann’s Heat starting Robert De Niro and Al Pacino.
The Swamp Rat SBR is built in-house by Noveske’s gunsmiths and finished with an Armor Black Cerakote. After it’s completion the WRMFZY staff comes in and gives the SBR its rattle can finish.
Below, are the product introduction on the Swamp Rat and its specs from Noveske’s website.
