Checking Out Ubisoft Forward 2024 Showcase

Summer is the season of gaming showcases from the biggest names in the industry. Earlier this week Ubisoft had its 2024 edition of Ubisoft Forward highlighting the immediate focus and future projects over the next couple of years for fans to get excited for. The stars of Ubisoft’s showcase was it pair of open world games: Assassin’s Creed Shadows and Star Wars Outlaws. Rainbow Six Seige, The Crew: Motorfest, XDefiant, and Skull and Bones were on display, revealing new expansions and seasonal updates for those live service games. Fans were also show a teaser for the Prince Of Persia Remake from the Xbox and DLC for Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown. Let’s take a look of what Ubisoft has to offer at this year’s Ubisoft Forward 2024.

Assassin’s Creed Shadows: Gameplay Deep Dive

Ubisoft gave Assassin’s Creed fans a big look at Shadows for the first time, mainly showing off the game’s duel protagonist structure that was last seen in Assassin’s Creed Syndicate. In one mission the player could choose either Naoe or Yasuke to tackle a mission in two ways: one of stealth with Naoe using the environment and moving the objective in secret. Or going loud and crashing through the front gates with Yasuke. The gameplay footage showed us Naoe’s path as an assassin as she stealthy snuck around the castle.

Star Wars: Outlaws

The show began with a gameplay deep dive of Star Wars Outlaws. We got to see gameplay mechanics on how we can prove Kay’s skills by finding and being taught new skills by masters throughout the galaxy. Beyond that gameplay footage showed off some dogfighting mechanics, with Kay’s ship the Trailblazer, faced off against Junkros fighters in a intense battle above Tatoonie, and more details on the reputation system that will be apart of Outlaws.

Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown

This year is the 35th Anniversary of the original Prince of Persia video game and Ubisoft had several announcements to make concerning the franchise. First, is Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown which receives new Divine Trials, combat challenges, puzzles challenges, and more outfits to collect today. In September, the game will also receive its first expansion, Mask of Darkness.

Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake

Ubisoft’s tortured Prince of Persia remake has found its footing and has a 2026 release date.

XDefiant

Ubisoft shared an update on XDefiant, revealing that season 1 will begin next month on July 2. XDefiant is in preseason right now, and the full season will launch with a slew of features including Capture the Flag, a new ranked progression system, three free new weapons, and one new map per month. During the trailer you will see new maps called Daytona and Clubhouse which will be apart of the rotation very soon.

The Crew: Motorfest Year 2

Fans of The Crew: Motorfest will be getting a brand new island in Ubisoft’s second year of content. In a trailer, Ubisoft shows off The Chase Squad and new story content that’s coming in November.

Skull & Bones Update

Skull & Bones season 2: Chours of Havoc is currently underway, this new season will include Megalodon to face off against, a new maneuverable ship called The Brig, and time limited boat race events. Fleet management is on the way, too, which has been a requested feature from the community. Season 3 is titled Dragon’s wake, and shared some of the new characters players can expect to in the upcoming season, such as Flying Dragon sea monster to face off against.

Anno117: Pax Romana

Ubisoft announced the next entry in city-builder series Anno. Anno117: Pax Romana is the newest entry in the long-requested setting of the Ancient Roman Empire. It’s coming to PC, Xbox Series X|S, and PS5 sometime next year.

Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora

It has been a hot minute since we’ve heard anything about Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora. You’re return to the Na’vi tribe won’t be much longer. A mysterious shadow looms in the sky and threatens the Na’vi clans below, it is up to you to face off against the RDA and protect the unity of the clans. Frontiers of Pandora is the first story pack. The Sky Breaker will be available starting July 16th.

Ubisoft Forward 2024, gave us a good taste what to expect from Ubisoft and what to get excited about in the new future from Assassin’s Creed, to the Prince of Persia remake, to XDefiant their is something for everyone.
