Fortiche Studios, the animation company behind the critically acclaimed Netflix animated show Arcane, is interested in adapting the highly praised manga Vagabond by Takehiko Inoue for the small screen.
In a recent interview with the anime-focused streaming service Crunchyroll, co-founder of Fortiche Studio Pascal Charrue discussed Takehiko Inoue’s Vagabond manga series, which centers on legendary swordsman Musashi Miyamoto. When asked which manga he would love to develop for TV, he mentioned Vagabond, saying, “It’s a masterpiece with incredible depth and stunning artwork that would be fascinating to bring to life. The series, based on a novel by Eiji Yoshikawa, offers a rich narrative and visual experience that we believe could translate beautifully to animation.”

Charrue continued, “When considering manga to adapt, it’s essential to find those that genuinely benefit from being animated. Often, I find myself disappointed with some adaptations because the pacing of a manga, which you control as a reader, doesn’t always translate well to animation.”
Currently, Fortiche is preparing for the release of Arcane Season 2, which will see sisters Jinx and Vi face off as they continue their journey through the complex and unfolding war between the wealthy of Piltover and the downtrodden of Zaun. The studio also has a lot on its slate with the Penelope of Sparta project. For now, we have plenty from Fortiche Studios to look forward to.
