Range Day Impressions: Shooting Nemo Arms Prototype Mongoose Chambered in 10mm
During a stop at the Nemo Arms booth, I had the opportunity to put rounds through their in-development Mongoose chambered in 10mm, and it immediately stood out due to how well it shot. The 10mm cartridge is known for a sharper recoil impulse compared to 9mm, but the Mongoose delivered a smooth, controlled shooting experience that felt far more manageable than expected. Even during rapid strings, the sights stayed locked on target, allowing for fast follow-up shots without fighting the gun.

That performance appears rooted in Nemo’s unconventional design philosophy. The Mongoose uses a tilting barrel system similar to a Glock, paired with a bolt design that draws inspiration from platforms like the SCAR or G36, albeit with significant internal changes. This combination appears to soften the recoil impulse and keep the gun flat during sustained fire.
The Mongoose remains in active development, and pricing or a release timeline has not yet been announced. Still, based on early range impressions, Nemo Arms’ 10mm Mongoose PCC is shaping up to be a compelling option as the platform continues to evolve.
