Smith & Wesson and Davidson’s Debut Performance Center M&P Shield X Exclusives
Smith & Wesson has partnered with Davidson’s to release two exclusive Performance Center M&P Shield X pistols, bringing enhanced performance features and updated styling to the popular micro-compact platform.
These new variants draw clear inspiration from the M&P Series V, incorporating aggressive styling, upgraded components, and performance-focused refinements throughout.
Spec V-Inspired Design
Both Shield X models feature a redesigned slide with Spec V-style serrations at the front and rear. The pattern is deeply cut and slightly raised, offering a more positive, tactile grip when manipulating the slide under various conditions.
The slide is also optics-ready, utilizing an RMSc/K footprint, and includes Smith & Wesson’s ClearSight slide cut, which helps redirect gases away from the optic to maintain a clearer sight picture during firing.
Performance Enhancements
At the core of both models is a 4.1-inch threaded, fluted match-grade barrel finished in a distinctive blue PVD coating. This marks the first time threaded barrel Shield X pistols have been offered through the Performance Center.
One variant (Item #14801) comes equipped with a knurled thread protector, while the second (Item #14802) includes a Strike Industries Micro Compensator, designed to reduce recoil and improve follow-up shot speed.
The following is the press release on Outdoorwire.com from Davidson’s.
