Radian Weapons Releases Afterburner & Ramjet for G19 & G45 Gen 6
Radian Weapons has officially released its Afterburner + Ramjet (AB+RJ) system for the latest generation of Glock pistols, bringing its proven recoil management system to sixth generation of the platform.
The initial rollout will focus on the G19 and G45, two of the most widely used Glock models both duty and defensive applications. While the G17 Gen 6 will be coming shortly after.
Shot Show Reveal & Changing Landscapes
Earlier this year at Industry Day during SHOT Show, it was widely reported that Gen 5 Afterburner + Ramjet system would be compatible with Gen 6 Glocks. Which would allow end users to easily convert their new pistols to their preferred setups without any further investment.
Prominent firearms YouTuber Zach from Tactical Advisor raised that exact question with the Radian team, was that Gen 5 barrels and comps had functioned without issue during their testing with the Gen 6. At the time, Radian had not observed cycling problems or catastrophic failures when running the AB + RJ system on the new platform.
However, further testing and evaluation told a different story.
Engineering Differences Matter
Through continued development, Radian identified subtle but critical differences between Gen 5 and Gen 6 barrel geometries.
While similar at a glance, this variation of the safety notch interface introduced potential long-term concerns related to:

• System longevity
• Safe operation
Rather than force cross-compatibility, Radian made the call to engineer a dedicated Gen 6 system, ensuring proper fitment and performance without compromise.

In its official release statement, Radian made the distinction clear:

COMPATIBILITY NOTICE: GEN5 AFTERBURNER+RAMJET systems are not compatible with GEN6. This product is engineered exclusively for the Glock G19 & G45 GEN6.”
As with previous generations, the system rewards strong shooting fundamentals, while delivering noticeable gains in control and consistency during extended strings of fire.

With the Gen 6 Afterburner + Ramjet, Radian Weapons reinforces a core principle: precision matters. Even small geometry changes can have real-world consequences, and Radian’s decision to develop a dedicated system reflects a commitment to reliability over convenience.
The Afterburner + Ramjet for Glock Gen 6 is available now in silver and bronze, with an MSRP of $389.95. At the time of writing, both variants are already sold out on Radian’s website an early indicator that demand for Gen 6-compatible performance upgrades is already strong.
