HK Expands VP Series with New VP9CC Micro-Compact

Heckler & Koch continues to expand its well-established VP9 A1 series with the introduction of the VP9CC, a purpose-built micro-compact pistol designed for concealed carry.

The VP9CC takes the proven foundation of the VP9 platform: its ergonomics, trigger characteristics, and overall design philosophy. HK takes this foundation and distills it into a compact  form factor without losing what made the platform successful.

In the micro-compact category, ergonomics are critical. Reduced frame size means less surface area to acquire proper grip, making customization even more important.

The VP9CC addresses this issues with six interchangeable backstraps, allowing users to fine-tune grip fit, trigger reach, and overall hand placement. This level of adjustability is uncommon in the micro-compact space and reflects HK’s continued focus on user interface.

The VP9CC also retains HK’s ambidextrous paddle-style magazine release, offering multiple actuation methods. This will be adjustments from traditional magazine style release available in North America.

Optics Mounting Innovation

With the VP9CC, Heckler & Koch introduces a proprietary optic mounting system designed to lower the optic position by approximately 40% compared to traditional mounting solutions.

This is achieved through a deeper slide cut paired with a “U-shaped” adapter plate that wraps around the striker assembly. The result is a lower-mounted optic that improves sight alignment and enables a more natural co-witness with iron sights.

Key Features & Specs

The HK VP9CC features:

Picatinny accessory rail

Multi-axis safety system features a trigger safety and firing pin blocking safety that articulate at 90 degrees to each other for an extra measure of safety

Disassembly safety prevents the slide from being removed from the frame until the chamber and magazine are cleared.

Patented HK charging supports make racking the slide much easier

Six interchangeable backstraps for a custom fit

Includes one 10-round extended flush-fit and one 12-round extended magazine

Optics-ready and optics-equipped models available

Loaded chamber indicator

Paddle magazine release is truly ambidextrous and can be operated with the thumb, trigger finger, or middle finger of the shooting hand

Ambidextrous slide release

Sight configuration features a tritium front and a clean black serrated rear

The trigger is all VP9, with a familiar short takeup, crisp break, and a positive reset

Barrel is hammer forged from HK’s proprietary blend of cannon-grade steel

Proprietary deep slide cut secures the optics mounting plate around the striker channel, enabling a 40% lower optics mounting height for factory co-witness with compatible sights

Availability & Pricing

With the VP9CC, HK enters the micro-compact market with a design that prioritizes ergonomics and optics integration areas where many smaller pistols tend to compromise.

By maintaining the core strengths of the VP9 platform while introducing meaningful innovations like the lowered optics system, HK positions the VP9CC as a serious contender in an increasingly crowded micro-compact segment.

The VP9CC is available now, with an MSRP of $1,049, or $1,399 when bundled with the Vortex Defender CCW optic.
