SIG Sauer and Agency Arms Introduce the P226 X-Agency

Sig Sauer is one of the largest firearm manufacturers in the world, designing and manufacturing pistols, rifles, and optics used by law enforcement, military, and civilian shooters around the globe. Agency Arms, meanwhile, has built its reputation by refining factory firearms through custom gunsmithing and component upgrades, including trigger work, polished internals, barrel porting, and more.

Now, Sig Sauer has given Agency Arms an iconic canvas to work with, bringing the company’s custom gunsmithing expertise to the P226 with the new SIG P226 X-Agency.

The Details

The P226 X-Agency features a robust collection of upgrades that work together to create a pistol designed to enhance recoil management, speed, and accuracy when shooting. Those features include:

Agency Arms enhanced alloy frame with scale front-strap checkering
3.8-inch bull barrel with target crown
Factory-installed ROMEO-X SIG-LOC PRO reflex sight

The Bottom Line

The P226 has been around for decades, but the X-Agency gives SIG Sauer’s classic hammer-fired platform a very different personality. Instead of simply putting another P226 on the market, SIG Sauer handed the platform over to Agency Arms to apply its own approach to performance-focused customization.

The combination of an integral compensator, bull barrel, enhanced frame, Agency Arms slide work, adjustable single-action trigger, and ROMEO-X optic gives the X-Agency a clear focus on shooters who want a more performance-oriented P226 without starting with a factory pistol and building it themselves.

That makes the X-Agency an interesting collaboration between a major manufacturer and a custom gunsmithing brand. The big question now is the price. With MSRP and availability still to be announced, we’ll have to see where SIG Sauer positions the P226 X-Agency in the market.
