It has been a three decade wait to see Tom Cruise return as Maverick in one of his most iconic movie roles. Now, the wait is almost over. The trailer starts with a voice over by instructor/officer from Top Gun explaining the greatness of their newest instructor. That he is a legend and one of the best jet fighters to ever traverse the skies. During this voice over we see a montage of Maverick flying and doing very advance flight maneuvers.
Also, during this trailer we receive our first look at some of the extended cast, mainly Miles Teller who plays Bradley Bradshaw. From there we see a short montage of Top Gun students training, some iconic beach and bar scenes paying homage to the original, and a funeral service. It looks like a fitting Top Gun sequel with all the right notes. Remembering it’s roots and what made the first Top Gun movie so iconic 30 plus years ago.
The new Top Gun: Maverick trailer is out now. We will be able to see Maverick all suited up and ready to train the next generation June 26th 2020.
