A bombshell of bad news was dropped on fans via Twitter yesterday on CD Projket Red official Twitter account. Cyberpunk 2077 has officially been delayed by the CDPR. Cyberpunk was official slated to release on April 16th, 2020 and now has been push back to September 17th, 2020. Now, fans of the much anticipated Cyberpunk 2077 game must wait a long five months to get their hands on CDPR potential new franchise.

Here is the official announcement from CD Projket Red.

“We are currently at a stage where the game is complete and playable, but there’s still work to be done. Night City is massive – full of stories, content, and places to visit, but due to the sheer scale and complexity of it all, we need more time to finish playtesting, finishing and polishing. We want Cyberpunk 2077 to be our crowning achievement for the generation and postponing launch will give us the precious months we need to make the game perfect.”

In the past week there has been a couple of other big delays in the industry. Square Enix just announced early this week that Final Fantasy VII: Remake will delayed a month to a April release from March. Square also announced the Marvel Avengers game will be delayed to September also like Cyberpunk 2077.

CD Projket Red is looking to give its loyal consumer base a well-balanced, polished, fleshed our gaming experience. Instead of releasing it not up to their standards they chose to delay the game. As, Shigeru Miyamoto once said, “A delayed game will eventually be good but, a rushed game is forever bad.”

What do you think about the delay of Cyberpunk 2077? Do you think it’s going to crush Marvel Avengers game?  Let us know in the comments below.
