On Monday, True Velocity offered its initial release of polymer ammunition to the civilian market. The ammunition was released as a .308 Winchester Collector’s Edition by True Velocity. Done to commemorate a new milestone for the company and the innovation it brings to the market.
Before, the big release this week True Velocity added a couple huge new appointments to the company. First, Tom Weichel has been appointed Chief Operating Officer of True Velocity. Mr. Weichel has over 30 years experience and previously worked at Texas Instruments. Next, joining True Velocity is Dr. Bruce Jette, is appointed Advisory Board Chairman. Dr. Jette was the Former Assistant Secretary of the Army for Acquisition, Logistics, and Technology.

True Velocity Adds Manufacturing Veteran as Chief Operating Officer
GARLAND, TX (July 15, 2021) – True Velocity announced the addition of manufacturing operations veteran Tom Weichel in the position of chief operating officer, further expanding the expertise of the Texas-based advanced technology and manufacturing company’s executive leadership team. The company currently produces proprietary composite ammunition.
Weichel joins True Velocity following a 30-year career in manufacturing operations, engineering, and executive management, most recently serving as vice president of worldwide fabrication operations for Texas Instruments. In three decades of industry experience, Weichel led manufacturing operations in Japan, Germany, and the U.S., managed a multi-billion-dollar annual budget, and oversaw global employee teams numbering in the thousands.

Former Assistant Secretary of the Army Joins Advanced Ammunition Manufacturer in New Role After Three Decades of Military Leadership
GARLAND, TX (July 22, 2021) – Texas-based advanced technology company True Velocity announced the appointment of Former Assistant Secretary of the Army for Acquisitions, Logistics and Technology (ASA ALT), Dr. Bruce Jette, as Advisory Board Chairman. Dr. Jette will focus on strengthening True Velocity’s outside continental United States (OCONUS) market opportunities and international defense contractor strategy. He will also oversee the company’s growing Board of Advisors, which helps guide product development and manufacturing innovation. True Velocity currently produces proprietary composite ammunition and is a finalist in the Next Generation Squad Weapon (NGSW) program.

A highly decorated U.S. Army veteran of 28 years, Jette joins True Velocity after a decorated career including multiple overseas tours and armor and cavalry commands and roles that led him to become the Army Acquisition Executive, the Senior Procurement Executive, the Science Advisor to the Secretary of the Army, and the Army’s Senior Research and Development official. In these positions, he held principal responsibility for Department of the Army matters related to logistics and oversaw the life cycle management and sustainment of Army weapon systems and equipment including research and development, testing and evaluation, acquisition, logistics, fielding, and disposition.
Prior to confirmation as ASA ALT, Dr. Jette served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Synovision Solutions, LLC, which provided management and technical consulting, engineering services, and project management in support of military and governmental agencies, as well as to the commercial industry.
Dr. Jette graduated from the United States Military Academy with a Bachelor of Science degree in Nuclear Engineering and Chemistry, and holds a Master of Science degree and a Doctorate in Electronic Materials from MIT. Additionally, he served as an Adjunct Professor at the Edmund A. Walsh School of Foreign Service Security Studies Program at Georgetown University.

Now, a little bit about me. I served six years in the Marines Corps as an 0311. I was in 2nd BN 4th Marines, 5th Marine Reg, 1st Mar Div. I was in Golf Company while in 2/4. I was deployed twice during my time in. I did one deployment to Afghanistan and my second was on apart of 31st MEU. I departed the military in September of 2015. I currently work as an RSO at a local range in Vegas.
