During Thanksgiving week a very interesting released fell under the radar of TLB. On November 22nd, Shadow Systems released their XR920 pistol. The XR920 was developed from feedback from law enforcement professionals. They requested a pistol that provided a quicker draw from the holster and maintained a 17+1 magazine capacity. In layman terms a full size frame with a compact slide. The design that has gained popularity since the release of the Glock 19X a few years back.
The new XR920 features directional front and rear serrations, a match grade barrel, flat face trigger with a pull weight of 4.5-5lbs, comes optics ready, and interchangeable back straps for shooters to find the perfect grip.
The XR920 comes in two different configurations as well: Combat and Elite. This is a staple of the Shadow Systems brand. The combat will feature front and rear directional slide serrations and come optics ready. While the Elite will features front, rear, and top serrations, a window cut out for weight reduction, and multi-footprint optic cut.
Below, is Shadow Systems press release on their new XR920 Crossover pistol.
Press Release
Born out of a custom request for Law Enforcement, the new XR920 is the crossover pistol that is quicker out of the holster with a full 17+1 capacity. Featuring the customizable ergonomics and unmatched recoil control you expect from a Shadow Systems pistol, the XR920 is mission ready.
The XR920 frame features interchangeable backstraps to allow a shooter to adjust the grip angle to fit their natural point of aim. The extended beavertail and aggressive trigger guard undercut provide unmatched recoil control, allowing quick, accurate follow-up shots. The frame’s wrap-around grip texture is aggressive enough to keep the gun firmly in the shooter’s grip without being uncomfortable for daily wear. The XR920 slide is designed for manipulation under stress, with directional serrations in the front and rear (as well as topside on some models) and a thinned profile at grasping locations. The match-grade barrel is conventionally rifled, spiral-fluted, and available threaded or unthreaded. The drop-safe, flat-faced aluminum trigger has a 4.5-5.0 lbs trigger pull and a crisp, tactile reset.
The patented optic cut allows shooters to mount a mini red dot optic of their choosing. The optic cut on the XR920 can accommodate most major brands of RDS optics directly mounted to the slide, without intervening plates or adapters.
Whether your pistol is your nightstand security blanket or your daily duty partner, there is a Shadow Systems pistol to fit the role. The XR920 is a perfect blend of the MR920 and DR920.
The XR920 by Shadow Systems is available now. The new crossover pistol retails at right around $900 MSRP. For more on the new XR920 check out Shadow Systems website.
