Safariland is extending its family of rifle rated body armor to include three new offerings which are designed to more comfortable to the female body. Safariland is proud to introduce the new DT206CF body armor. The new plates will be the first NIJ Level III plate of its kind specifically designed for women. In addition, to the Level III plates, Safariland will be releasing two non-NIJ certified plates with the Model X-CAL DT CF1 and IMPAC CF1 which are designed for first responders.

Jacksonville, Florida – Safariland®, a brand of The Safariland Group®, a leading global provider of safety products designed for the public safety, military, professional and outdoor markets and one of Cadre Holdings, Inc.’s (NYSE: CDRE) (“Cadre”) key brands continues to stay on the leading edge of defense equipment with its new line of Hard Armor rifle plates explicitly designed for women and marks the first-ever NIJ 0101.06 compliant hard armor plate for the female form.

Safariland has expanded its rifle-rated family of Hard Armor plates to include three offerings for women. The Model DT206CF (NIJ Level III), along with non-certified variants, Model X-CALÔ DT CF1 and Model IMPACÔ CF1 have been designed with female first responders in mind and offer a unique radius of curvature to enhance fit and comfort. These plates have low profile capabilities and are compatible with the already available TAC PH Plate Harness. They have all been designed with high-performing ceramic, and polyethylene composites with 1000-denier Cordura® nylon covering that can withstand long-term wear.

“We seek to create the best products on the market for a wide array of customers,” said Safariland VP/GM of Armor Jim Duncan. “This plate family puts us one step closer to that goal. We have manufactured these plates with high-quality materials and put in the effort to ensure maximum comfort is available for all the female officers, first responders, and other body armor users.

The new plates are currently available now on Safariland’s website. The DT206CF will be NIJ Level 3 rifle plates capable of stopping six rounds of 7.62x51mm NATO ammunition. The plates weigh in at a respectable 3.4 lbs and are 1” thick. The new plates retail for $500 MSRP. While the X-CAL DTCF1 and IMPAC CF1 plates weigh less than 3.5 lbs per plate and retails for $475 and $450 MSRP, respectively. For more on Safariland’s new body armor and plate carriers, click here.
