The first trailer for Cocaine Bear has been unleashed online and it is as crazy and adrenaline fuel as you would imagine a bear on cocaine would be. Cocaine Bear tells the story of a drug-fueled rampage by a bear who consumed a load of cocaine. This horror-comedy is incredibly inspired by real events.
In September of 1985, a 175lbs black bear in north Georgia devoured an entire duffel bag of cocaine that had been abandoned by cocaine smuggler Andrew Thornton. As far as we know the real Cocaine Bear did not go on a murderous rampage in the hills of Georgia.
The real story of the Cocaine Bear is that he never attacked anyone and subsequently overdose on the narcotic. The bear was found three months later deceased next to 40 plastic containers of the narcotic.
The upcoming movie was directed by Pitch Perfect star Elizabeth Banks. The movie’s cast features O’Shea Jackson Jr, Keri Russell, Margo Martindale, Alden Ehrenreich, and Jesse Tyler Ferguson, alongside Kahyun Kim, Christian Convery, Brooklynn Prince, and Scott Seiss. Cocaine Bear is one of the last roles Ray Liotta started in before his untimely passing.
The trailer is a healthy mix of horror with a good injection of comedy from the cast and crazy death scenarios people find themselves in. All the while local law enforcement tries to make sense of all the carnage from this cocaine-fueled bear.
