Staccato HD Pistols: Redefining Reliability and Performance

A few years ago, Staccato—formerly known as STI—transitioned from high-end 2011 production to a focus on creating a high-quality 2011 pistol that could be produced on a large scale. This shift aimed to make the platform more accessible to shooters while simultaneously pursuing military and law enforcement contracts. Today, over 1,600 law enforcement agencies have chosen Staccato as their pistol of choice, a testament to the brand’s quality and reliability.
Building on years of data, feedback, and experience from military and law enforcement professionals, Staccato has unveiled its latest innovation: the Staccato HD family of handguns. Designed directly from end-user input, the Staccato HD series incorporates cutting-edge features and technologies, resulting in one of the most advanced 2011 platforms available.
The standout feature of the HD series is its redesigned grip module, which is compatible with Glock-pattern magazines. These widely used magazines are already a standard for law enforcement agencies across the U.S. and internationally, making the HD series an easy fit for existing supply chains.
The Staccato HD family includes two models: the P4, featuring a 4-inch barrel, and the P4.5, with a 4.5-inch barrel. Both pistols are built to endure the harshest conditions while providing professionals and civilians with the reliability they need when it matters most.
Below are the press release and product details for Staccato HD family of pistols.
Press Release

This line of pistols is the result of direct feedback from our most elite law enforcement and government customers, including Federal tactical teams operating at the national and international level. These customers are required to carry their sidearms in some of the toughest environments and under the harshest conditions a pistol will see. The HD line is our most thoroughly and aggressively tested set of pistols to date, going far beyond industry standards to meet the stringent requirements of America’s elite armed professionals.
A Game-Changing Feature Set
The HD line is built around a suite of performance upgrades and technological enhancements on both the inside and outside for even better handling and the utmost endurance while still retaining the signature Staccato experience only found in the world’s best shooting handguns.
All Staccato HD pistols will feed from ubiquitous Glock-pattern magazines, which are inexpensive and easily sourced almost anywhere in the commercial market. For law enforcement and government customers currently issuing these magazines, their existing inventory and supply chain systems will be able to support the Staccato HD line. The P-series of HD pistols will accept any full-size Glock-pattern magazine, but will ship with 18-round, heat-treated carbon steel magazines finished in a black low-friction coating.

The grip module has been re-contoured around this magazine to provide a slimmer, more comfortable ergonomic experience including a higher beavertail and larger trigger guard. HD grips will not include a grip safety. The steel frame includes thumb index ledges machined into both sides, and our front slide serrations have been redesigned to wrap over the edges of the slide with a slightly more aggressive profile to aid in weapons manipulations while wearing gloves or under adverse conditions.
All fire controls on the HD line will be fully ambidextrous. The thumb safety and slide release levers are both dual-sided, and the magazine catch is reversible, for a fully mirrored manual-of-arms regardless of which hand you shoot with.
All Staccato HD pistols will feature a thoroughly updated HOST system for direct-mounting red dot optics. Model-specific optic spacers will be available for different models but, unlike traditional plate-based systems, the HOST will connect your optic directly to the slide allowing the use of longer, stronger screws. Additionally, your optic will sit lower on the slide for easier dot acquisition and smaller backup iron sights. The HOST also puts the rear iron sight in front of the optic. Seating the optic further back not only minimizes the likelihood of ejected brass contacting the sight, but better accommodates newer red dot sights with “forward set” windows like the Trijicon RMR HD or SRO.
The HD recoil system uses a single captured, buffered flat wire spring for better service life and simplicity of operation. The HD operating system also includes an active firing pin block safety.
Staccato is proud to introduce the most innovative, technologically advanced version of the 2011 platform ever brought to market: The Staccato HD.
