Legend of the White Dragon Finally Set for Release, Honoring Jason David Frank
This weekend at WonderCon, during a Saturday panel with the creative team at Bat in the Sun, Aaron Schoenke delivered a surprise announcement that Power Ranger and Jason David Frank fans have been waiting years to hear.
Legend of the White Dragon has officially secured North American distribution, with Well Go USA Entertainment acquiring the film’s rights.
For a long time, fans who supported the White Dragon project along with Frank and Schoenke. Many weren’t sure if the film would ever see the light of day. Due to the untimely passing of Frank, the Power Rangers fanbase and cast alike mourned someone who wasn’t just an actor, but a figure who genuinely connected with his family, friends, and community. He inspired a generations of Power Ranger fans. And for many, he was a constant. His death threw the movie’s future into limbo.
In the wake of that loss, the film was put on hold giving the team time to ensure it would be handled the right way. Not rushed. Not compromised. But done in a way that honors his legacy. That patience has paid off.

Written and directed by brothers Aaron Schoenke and Sean Schoenke the film also stars Schoenke alongside his longtime friend, Jason Davis Frank, best known to many as Tommy Oliver from Mighty Morphin Power Rangers.
Legend of the White Dragon is set to arrive in select theaters on August 28, 2026, National Power Rangers Day.
