ZEV Technologies & Field Ethos Collaborate on the Limited Edition Santeria Hypercomp

Zev Technologies has partnered with Field Ethos to release a unique, limited-edition pistol: the Santeria Hypercomp. This collaboration blends ZEV’s performance-driven engineering with Field Ethos’ storytelling and cultural perspective, resulting in a handgun that is as much a statement piece as it is a shooter.

A Collaboration Rooted in Culture and Craft

Field Ethos has built its reputation as a premium quarterly publication centered around outdoor adventure, big game hunting, and cultural exploration often drawing comparisons to a more modern, enthusiast-driven take on National Geographic. Meanwhile, ZEV Technologies has long been recognized as a pioneer in the aftermarket Glock space, evolving over the years into a full-scale manufacturer producing complete pistols and rifles.

The Santeria Hypercomp reflects both identities. Drawing inspiration from African and Latin influences, the name itself references Santería: an Afro-Cuban spiritual tradition rooted in the beliefs of the Yoruba people of West Africa, blended with elements of Catholicism. That cultural influence is subtly woven into the aesthetic of the pistol, highlighted by custom Field Ethos engravings and premium finishes.

Meet the Santeria. Built upon the foundation of our flagship pistol, the Hypercomp, this special piece has got some stories to tell, just like our friends at Field Ethos. The Hypercomp is chambered in 9mm and features our ported island barrel which helps keep the gun flat and on target. The magwell is cut from solid steel adding some extra heft to the black polymer grip. We chose titanium nitride as the coating for the barrel, frame, and magwell for those who want a gun that looks as good as it shoots. The subtle, custom FE engraving pushes this over the edge aesthetically and helps identify it as something to take notice of. The folks at Field Ethos are no strangers to running the best gear out there which is why they chose ZEV to be their partner on this one of a kind handgun. Whether you’re looking to run it fast and loose at the range or just use it as a trophy to show off, the Santeria won’t disappoint.

Technical Overview

  • The OZ9 V2 Hypercomp X integrates compensator-like performance through four tapered vertical ports in the barrel, reducing muzzle rise without adding length or mass.
  • Built on ZEV’s patented steel receiver, which runs the full length of the pistol, improving rigidity while dispersing recoil energy more efficiently.
  • A single takedown pin at the front of the trigger guard secures the removable grip module to the steel receiver.
  • The trigger is housed within the steel receiver, allowing for future grip changes without full disassembly.
  • Enhanced grip geometry promotes a more forward hand position, aiding in recoil control and muzzle tracking.
  • The slide features ZEV’s patented RMR cut with integrated posts for a more secure optic mounting system.
Pricing & Availability

The Santeria Hypercomp sits at the intersection of performance and presentation. From a technical standpoint, it leverages ZEV’s proven Hypercomp system to deliver a flatter shooting experience in a compact footprint. At the same time, its cultural inspiration and premium finish position it as a collector-focused piece within the high-end pistol market.

At an MSRP of $2,300, the Santeria Hypercomp is clearly aimed at enthusiasts who value both performance upgrades and exclusivity. Whether it’s viewed as a hard-use pistol or a curated showpiece will ultimately come down to the end user but there’s no denying this collaboration brings something different to the table.
