Last Friday, Savage Arms announced in a press release the addition of four new rifles to the 110 lineup chambered in 300 PRC. The 300 PRC by Hornady came out of a Department of Defense extended long range sniper program. The DoD was looking for a round that provided consistent long range results with lighter recoil. Hornady’s 300 PRC was the round that reigned supreme and won the DoD contract.
On Monday, FN has announced the release of the SCAR 20S chambered in 6.5 Creedmoor. 6.5 Creedmoor continues to gain traction and popularity since being introduced over 13 years ago. FN is banking on SOCOM support and adoption of 6.5 creedmoor in the MK220 SSR, as the catalyst for SCAR 20S being chambered in 6.5.
