As, I was watching the Opening Night Live with Geoff Keighley he dropped some bombshell news in the middle of the event. After the conclusion of the Epic Store exclusive trailer he announces that Sony has bought Insomniac Games creator of the Ratchet and Clank series and widely successful Spider-Man game. The announcement was made on Insomniac’s Twitter page. When I heard this I was shock at that big development in the middle of the Opening Night Live Show.
After the show concluded I researched to find out some more details about Insomniac Games joining the Sony Family. There isn’t much detail about the acquisition but, both Insomniac and Sony did release statements. I was not able to find the whole press release only excerpts from Shawn Layden, Chairman of Sony Interactive Entertainment Worldwide and Tom Price CEO of Insomniac Games. Insomniac will be the 14th studio under Sony Interactive Entertainment.
