Recently, Ruger announced the release of the American Competition Pistol (ACP) to their Ruger American line. The American Competition Pistol features a 5” competition barrel, a 1:16 twist rate for the barrel, a lengthened and ported slide, fully adjustable rear sight with a fiber optic front sight. The American Competition Pistol also features an optic mount plate for a red dot sight.

The American Competition Pistol has a one-piece, precision-made stainless steel chassis with integral frame rails and fire control housing. The ACP features ambidextrous controls and a Picatinny rail for mounting a light. The grip of the ACP has a aggressive new competition texturing that gives added grip and control to the user. The pistol’s overall length comes in at 8.3” with a 5” competition barrel and weighs in at 34 oz or 2.12 lbs.

The American Competition Pistols are performance tested and rated to handle +P ammunition. The ACP features a powerful striker spring for positive primer strikes without a heavier trigger pull.
