Throughout, the industry their are discounts for active military, law enforcement, and first responders. Sometimes those discounts don’t jump to the veteran community. Recently, Smith & Wesson has expanded its American Guardians Program to veteran community. As, a veteran all you need is your DD-214 and a honorable discharge from military service.
If you’re interested in taking advantage of the Guardians Program as a veteran, you will have to check your local gun stores to see if they participate in the discount. To find those retailers you can simply use Smith & Wesson’s Dealer locator and search by zip code. This program gives access to 53 unique models from which you can choose from. Below, is are summary of the list of people who qualify for the program.
Active Duty, Veterans, Law Enforcement, and First Responders who qualify include:
• Sworn LE (Law Enforcement) State, County and Local Agency Officers • Federal LE Agency Officers • Corrections Officers, including Parole and Probation Officers • Retired LE Officers with credentials including Federal, State, County and Local • LE Academy Cadets with Enrollment Documentation From the Academy • State Licensed Security Companies and State/City Licensed Security Officers • Federal Flight Deck Officers • Court Judges, District Attorneys and Deputy District Attorneys • First responders including firefighters and rescue personnel with appropriate I.D. • Military: Active, Retired, Active-Reserve, National Guard • Veterans, Disabled in any capacity or with an Honorably Discharged DD-214 or Form NGB-22
A copy of your credentials is required at point of sale in order to verify eligibility for the American Guardians Program.

Now, a little bit about me. I served six years in the Marines Corps as an 0311. I was in 2nd BN 4th Marines, 5th Marine Reg, 1st Mar Div. I was in Golf Company while in 2/4. I was deployed twice during my time in. I did one deployment to Afghanistan and my second was on apart of 31st MEU. I departed the military in September of 2015. I currently work as an RSO at a local range in Vegas.
