Earlier this year at Shot Show, Faxon Firearms and Q introduced rifles and bolt-actions chambered in Q’s 8.6 Blackout cartridge. The 8.6 BLK is a .338 cartridge that has been in a long development cycle with Q with great ballistics and energy transfer upon target. Faxon stepped in to lend their expertise with barrel and rifle manufacture. The new barrels from Faxon feature gnarly twist rate of 1:3”. This high twist rate was done to stabilize 300-grain subsonic bullets the rifle can shoot. Recently, Faxon Firearms has announced that their new Sentinel Series AR-10s chambered in 8.6 Blackout. The new rifles are available now for preorder.
Faxon’s Sentinel series is currently includes to AR pistols with 8” and 12” barrels and with a 16” rifle version. The new 8.6 BLK has the same case head dimensions and overall length of .308. Which allows the 8.6 BLK to load in a standard AR-10 magazine.
