Product Description
UANVB-OC “Samurai”
The “Samurai” is a patent pending articulating binocular system. The goggle is made of high-strength hybrid fiber reinforced injection molded polymer and paired with a full suite of outboard controls, utilized via the proprietary control pack.
The outboard control pack comes in an analog or digital control configuration and is powered by either 2X CR123A or 4X AA. This outboard control pack enables the user to control the goggle from the rear of their helmet system. Moving the controls to the end of the helmet enables the user to maintain situational awareness and positive control of a weapon while adjusting settings. The outboard control pack allows for manual gain adjustment, activation of the IR illuminator, and control of goggle power state.
IPD Stops
The articulating design allows users to use one eye or both eyes enabling the simultaneous use of a thermal optic or other non-passive aiming systems. This also enables users to operate vehicles without limiting head space by eliminating the need to stow the unit upright or to tuck the pods against the helmet when stowed. Upon stow each pod has individual power cutoff to negate backsplash or any accidental tube exposure.
Durability / Ingress rating
This unit is lightweight without compromising strength. It is rugged and exceeds MIL-STD-810H drop testing, plus it has been further drop tested to meet the NATO 1.5 meter firearms drop test standard. The Samurai has a water ingress rating that also exceeds MIL-STD-810H and IP68.
On Board IR Illuminator
The goggle is equipped with an onboard infrared illuminator that can quickly be activated for immediate flood illumination.
Articulation/ Pod Shut-off
A patent pending new “Friction Lock Interpupillary Adjustment” feature allows users to quickly and easily set IP to stop distance with a simple rotate into place and forget design. No tools or knobs are required.
UANVB-FC “Manticore”
The Manticore is an articulating binocular housing made of high-strength hybrid fiber-reinforced injection molded polymer with a full suite of onboard digital controls. Using cutting-edge polymer and manufacturing methods, an ultra-lightweight and robust design is achieved, including an optimal single-piece pod geometry.
