The newest generation of the MCX lineup has been highly anticipated in the commercial market since the U.S. Army announced SIG as the winner of the NGSW program—now the rifle is finally available for purchase. The new MCX SPEAR will be available in 7.62x51mm NATO and 6.5 Creedmoor during its initial run with the .277 Fury coming down the road. The MCX Spear is piston operated system with the same manual of Arms as an AR-15, and takes AR-10 pattern magazines. The MCX Spear will be offered in 13” SBR, 13” pistol, and 16.3” rifle configurations.

The MCX-SPEAR is an adaptable multi-caliber rifle (277 SIG FURY, 6.5 Creedmoor, 7.62 NATO) featuring rear and side non-reciprocating charging handles, a 6-position folding Magpul SL-M stock, integrated stainless steel QD mounts on the lower receiver and handguard, fully ambidextrous fire controls, including safety, bolt-catch, and magazine release, 2-stage Matchlite Duo trigger, 2-position adjustable gas valve, a lightened free-float M-LOK™ handguard with a full-length picatinny rail, and user-interchangeable barrel for easy caliber conversion. The MCX-SPEAR ships with (1) 20-round magazine.

The price of the MCX Spear is currently unknown. My estimate for this rifle will be around the Knights Armament SR-25 price point. So I can seek this rifle costing anywhere between $5,000-$7,000.

Now, a little bit about me. I served six years in the Marines Corps as an 0311. I was in 2nd BN 4th Marines, 5th Marine Reg, 1st Mar Div. I was in Golf Company while in 2/4. I was deployed twice during my time in. I did one deployment to Afghanistan and my second was on apart of 31st MEU. I departed the military in September of 2015. I currently work as an RSO at a local range in Vegas.
