Springfield Armory Unveils the Echelon 4.5F Comp: Enhancing Performance and Adaptability
Springfield Armory has once again raised the bar with the introduction of the Echelon 4.5F Comp 9mm, an integrally compensated pistol that brings a new level of control and precision to the Echelon lineup. Designed to reduce felt recoil and muzzle rise, this latest addition is engineered to deliver enhanced performance and versatility for shooters seeking a reliable duty-style pistol.
With its discreetly designed integral compensator, the Echelon 4.5F Comp directs gas upward through a single port on the top of its hammer-forged slide and barrel. This innovation not only minimizes muzzle rise but also ensures faster, more accurate follow-up shots. The placement of the front sight behind the compensator provides an uninterrupted sight picture, further improving shooting accuracy and control.
Built around the revolutionary Central Operating Group, the Echelon 4.5F Comp offers unmatched modularity and adaptability. This self-contained, serialized chassis allows users to switch between grip modules in seconds, making it easy to customize the pistol to fit any mission or personal preference. Combined with a patent-pending Variable Interface System that supports over 30 different optics without the need for adapter plates, the Echelon 4.5F Comp sets a new standard for duty-grade firearms.
Below is the official press release from Springfield Armory:
GENESEO, ILL. (09/24/24) – Springfield Armory® is proud to announce the launch of the Echelon™ 4.5F Comp 9mm pistol. Integrally compensated to reduce felt recoil and muzzle rise, the Echelon 4.5F Comp 9mm is meticulously engineered to offer enhanced performance and unmatched adaptability.
The integral compensator featured on this Echelon is discreetly designed with a single port on the top of the hammer-forged slide and barrel. Redirecting gas upwards, it effectively reduces muzzle rise and enhances control. The result is a pistol that delivers faster and more accurate follow-up shots. In addition, the front sight is positioned behind the compensator for an uninterrupted sight picture.
At the heart of the Echelon Comp lies the Central Operating Group. Employing cutting-edge manufacturing techniques, the Central Operating Group is entirely self-contained and serialized allowing it to be easily moved between grip modules in seconds. Precision built from stainless steel, the chassis provides a robust housing for its patent-pending operating system.
Concealed beneath the slide cover plate is the Echelon Comp’s patent-pending optic mounting system. The Variable Interface System allows users to mount more than 30 optics directly to the slide without the use of adapter plates. Simply configure the self-locking pins for the footprint of your desired optic to achieve a low, direct mount for improved sight picture and intuitive alignment.
“The Echelon was designed to offer a fresh take on the duty-style 9mm pistol with a host of modular and innovative features,” said Steve Kramer, Springfield Armory’s Vice President of Marketing. “Now with the Echelon Comp, shooters have a new option that combines advanced performance with duty-grade durability.”
The Echelon 4.5F Comp 9mm comes with a flush-fit 17-round and also an extended 20-round magazine. For restricted locales, a 15-round and a 10-round version are also offered — both featuring two magazines. MSRP for all versions of the Echelon Comp is $749.
