Advanced Fire Control and Ranging Technology for First-Shot Accuracy
A few years ago at Shot Show, Magpul and Maztech Industries announced their collaboration on the X4 system, a cutting-edge technology designed to enhance situational awareness and targeting accuracy. This system integrates environmental and ballistic data to provide real-time information for shooters. Key components of the X4 system include the Maztech X4-FCS, a fire control system that delivers precise ballistic calculations, and the X4-LRF-15K laser rangefinder, which offers comprehensive ranging and ballistics solutions.

Magpul and Maztech Industries have partnered to develop multiple products that operate together as a suite that expands situational awareness and increases targeting accuracy. The goal of this system is the fusion of different environmental, geographical, and ballistic data in order to provide first shot hits on targets at all ranges. We call this line the X4. In the course of this year, these products will be released to be used as part of the X4 system or as stand-alone capabilities.
Maztech X4-FCS™ (Fire Control System)
THE X4-FCS™
The Maztech X4-FCS™ (Fire Control System) pairs with the shooter’s 30mm low-power variable optic (LPVO) and works as a mount that provides real-time ballistic calculations for first shot hits on target, even out to the maximum effective range of the ammunition. The X4-FCS™ uses data points such as temperature, pressure, humidity, altitude, pitch and roll, and heading that are all paired with the ballistic solver and ballistics library thanks to its use of the Applied Ballistics® software and ballistics database. By combining these parameters with user-supplied bullet and firearm data, the X4-FCS™ creates a precise, ballistic-compensated offset aiming point that acts as the shooter’s aimpoint through the LPVO.
Maztech X4-LRF-15K™ (Laser Rangefinder)
The Maztech X4-LRF™ (Laser Range Finder) is an extremely accurate ranging laser with co-located visible and infrared aiming lasers as well as an integrated Applied Ballistics® calculator with on-board environmental and motion sensors. By combining this technology, users have a complete ranging and ballistics solution all in one compact, rugged package. Programmable pointer power levels allow the user to optimize for mission-specific parameters.
