Yesterday, Sig Sauer announced the United States Operation Command (USSOCOM) has completed a safety certification and purchase of the Sig MG 338 machine gun. The safety certification includes the MG 338, Sig Sauer 338 Norma ammunition, and next generation Sig suppressors.
Yesterday, on Instagram Geissele Automatics announced their acquisition of the 240LW and 240LWS machine guns technical data package and intellectual property from Barrett Firearms. Barrett also announced it has entered a technical support agreement for the 240 LW and 240 LWS with Geissele Automatics.
On Monday, FN has announced the release of the SCAR 20S chambered in 6.5 Creedmoor. 6.5 Creedmoor continues to gain traction and popularity since being introduced over 13 years ago. FN is banking on SOCOM support and adoption of 6.5 creedmoor in the MK220 SSR, as the catalyst for SCAR 20S being chambered in 6.5.
Two Nightforce riflescopes have been chosen for USSOCOM Percision-Variable Power Scope (P-VPS). Which is a component of the Miniature Aiming Systems Day Optic (MAS-D) program. SOCOM chose two Nightforce ATACR variant optics, the ATACR 5-25×56 F1 and 7-35×56 F1 riflescopes.
