Recently, during an investor call President of CD Projket Red Adam Kicinski briefly touched on on the subject of potential monetization of Cyberpunk 2077. No, concrete or firm details have been established on how that monetization model would look like.
Below is the statement regarding potential monetization during the investor call.
“As far as the monetization on the multiplayer for Cyberpunk is concerned, we believe right now it’s definitely too early to share any details on that,” he told investors. “The project is in a relatively early stage. We keep experimenting—this is our first multiplayer game, and we check different options and possibilities, and it’s definitely not the time to point you to a certain specific direction on that.”
In previous interviews and articles CD Projket Red has stated it would not have any microtransactions within the game. It is the early stages of CD Projket Red investigating potential monetization models. We will have to wait and see.
Cyberpunk is on its final stretch of development. The game is set to release worldwide on April 16, 2020. Cyberpunk 2077 will have free DLC content that will be launching in the months after launch.
