Just a few days before Christmas the Great American Outdoor Group purchased Sportsman’s Warehouse. Sportsman’s Warehouse is a prominent outdoor retail store here in the U.S., known for selling hunting, fishing, camping, and outdoor equipment. Great American Outdoor Group is the parent company of Cabela’s and Bass Pro Shops. The inclusion of Sportsman’s puts these three big outdoor retailers under the same roof. This purchase by Great American Outdoor Group creates a sporting good retail powerhouse for outdoor enthusiasts.

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. and WEST JORDAN, Utah, Dec. 21, 2020 — In an effort to better serve its loyal customers, Sportsman’s Warehouse has entered into a definitive agreement to join the Great American Outdoors Group, parent company of Bass Pro Shops, Cabela’s, White River Marine Group and a collection of nature-based resorts. The Great American Outdoors Group will remain a private company with a long-term view to do what is best for its customers, team members and conservation initiatives. As part of the agreement, Sportsman’s Warehouse will be acquired for $18.00 per share in cash.
The driving force behind the partnership is the two companies’ similar histories and highly complementary business philosophies and geographic footprints. Both entities share a passion with their customers for fishing, camping, hunting, boating and other outdoor activities. Likewise, both are highly acclaimed retailers with well-deserved reputations for a broad offering of outstanding brand name and proprietary products, superior customer service, deeply knowledgeable team members and an unwavering passion for conservation. Now, a little bit about me. I served six years in the Marines Corps as an 0311. I was in 2nd BN 4th Marines, 5th Marine Reg, 1st Mar Div. I was in Golf Company while in 2/4. I was deployed twice during my time in. I did one deployment to Afghanistan and my second was on apart of 31st MEU. I departed the military in September of 2015. I currently work as an RSO at a local range in Vegas.
